Marketing & Project Support Intern
Supporting MassHire’s Employer Engagement Project
Providing enhanced employer-paid and sponsored summer work-based-learning opportunities for youth/young adults ages 14-25 in Pittsfield and surrounding Berkshire communities
AGENCY DESCRIPTION:
The Masshire Berkshire Workforce Board (BWB) and Career Center helps people find jobs, supports companies with training and resources, and prepares young people ages 14-21 for careers and the working world. We do it the following ways:
- Acting as primary resource for Berkshire County Labor Market Information
- Designing new training and employment programs for Berkshire residents
- Staying up to date on critical and emerging sectors and trends in Berkshire County
- Identifying needs and gaps between employers and people seeking work
- Rapid response to companies that are in transition (often downsizing or closing)
- And more
For young people specifically:
- Providing internships and work based learning experiences
- Career and college readiness opportunities
- Career awareness and exploration activities
- Summer employment and specialized programs
- And more
INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the project’s Employer Engagement Consultant with support from BWB and Career Center Youth Staff, the Marketing & Project Support Intern will assist with the following tasks including, but not limited to:
- Assist with developing, coordinating and launching an Employer Engagement Marketing Campaign to enhance the number of employer-paid and sponsored summer work-based-learning experiences for youth ages 14-25 in Pittsfield and the surrounding Berkshire communities
- Assist Employer Engagement Consultant with aspects of each Employer Engagement activity as part of the project (i.e. support coordination of Youth Employment Job Fairs, etc.)
- Develop and implement ways through digital media to showcase local youth employment experiences and the benefits of
- Assist Career Center Youth staff with the coordination and implementation of Youth Works programming that includes data management, employer training & support, youth training, etc.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependability
- Time management and professionalism
- General computer skills - comfortable learning new online platforms
- Knowledge of canva and/or other graphic design tools and social media platforms
REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to learn, adapt, and ask meaningful questions
- Technology access (internet, devices, etc - laptop can be provided if needed)
- Transportation to Pittsfield to BWB (75 South Church Street) & Career Center (160 North Street) offices
SCHEDULE: HYBRID (Virtual and In-Person) – 12 hrs/week for 30 weeks (February 1 – August 30, 2026)
COMPENSATION - $18/hr. Contracted or payrolled position TBD
