French Creole Translator / Interpreter (Manufacturing Environment)
Position Summary
The French Creole Translator/Interpreter supports effective communication between French Creole-speaking employees and management within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for translating written materials, interpreting verbal communications, assisting with training and safety programs, and ensuring employees understand company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide verbal interpretation between French Creole-speaking employees and English-speaking supervisors, managers, HR representatives, and trainers.
Translate written documents, including:
Safety procedures and policies
Job instructions and work standards
Employee handbooks
Training materials
Benefits information
HR communications and notices
Support onboarding and orientation sessions for new employees.
Assist with communication during production meetings, safety meetings, disciplinary discussions, and performance reviews.
Ensure accurate and culturally appropriate translation of technical and manufacturing terminology.
Help employees understand workplace policies, safety requirements, and production expectations.
Maintain confidentiality of employee, company, and business information.
Collaborate with Human Resources, Operations, Safety, and Training teams to improve communication and employee engagement.
Provide language support during audits, investigations, emergency situations, and employee relations matters as needed.
Identify communication barriers and recommend solutions to improve workforce understanding and productivity.
Qualifications
Required
Fluency in both French Creole and English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to accurately translate technical and manufacturing-related information.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness.
Preferred
Previous translation or interpretation experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or production environment.
Experience supporting Human Resources, Safety, or Training departments.
Translation certification or related language credentials.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment, and workplace safety standards.

Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French Creole in person, by phone, and through written correspondence.
