Equity Centered Programs Manager

Equity Centered Programs Manager

Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity

Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity (CBHFH) is grounded in our grassroots origin story of Koinonia farm, the racially integrated farm founded in the 1940s.  It was from these humble beginnings, that Habitat for Humanity International and the thousand affiliates and 70 global partners worldwide were born and continue to envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

We value diversity -- in backgrounds and in experiences.  In the Berkshires, housing is at a crisis level and the Black homeownership rate is now the lowest of any racial or ethnic group. The systemic racial discrimination has prevented many Black Americans from owning homes and creating generational wealth.  Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity, through the Advancing Black Homeownership initiative, seeks to ensure Black households have equitable access to successful homeownership and wealth generation. We need people from all backgrounds and paths of life to help build the future of housing in the Berkshires.

CBHFH’s team is people-centered, empathetic, caring, and supportive.  We are deliberate and self-reflective about the type of team and culture we are building.  We live out our Core Values every day and seek team members that are not only strong in their own area of expertise, but care deeply about supporting each other’s growth while providing accountability and outcomes for the community.

The Equity Centered Programs Manager (ECPM) will play a crucial role in advocacy, programmatic strategy, and strategic partnerships with the goal of breaking down barriers to homeownership.

The ECPM  at Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity is responsible for supporting the development of an organizational  3-year Advancing Black Homeownership strategic plan.  The ECPM will work in collaboration with other affiliates and Habitat for Humanity International Advancing Black Homeownership staff to join the national effort to close the racial homeownership gap, as well as take the lead on local efforts with the same goals.

The ECPM is responsible for deepening the relationships with Black-led organizations in the Berkshires to form a vision with and for the community.  CBHFH believes in the power of residents as subject matter experts and values resident goals, dreams, and aspirations as the starting place for new initiatives.  CBHFH recognizes that we do not have all the answers and are dedicated to finding solutions with the community.

CBHFH believes our people make all the difference in cultivating an inclusive, down-to-earth culture that welcomes ideas, encourages innovation, and values belonging.  We are accountable to each other as a team and each team member has access to the CEO.
